Lumber Sales

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Lumber Sales professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service while driving sales growth and MUST have extensive knowledge of lumber including species characteristics, grades, application of different materials, etc.

In this role, you will be responsible for engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions that meet their requirements. Your ability to build relationships and effectively communicate will be key to your success in this position.

We will only be following up with applicants who possess the knowledge/experience in Lumber and sales that we are looking for.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide appropriate product recommendations. This will include various types of lumber, railing, fasteners, hardware, stains, siding and more.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster loyalty and repeat business.
• Meet or exceed sales targets through effective selling techniques and customer service excellence.
• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase features and benefits. This requires construction knowledge regarding best practices and practical application of materials.
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide timely follow-up to ensure satisfaction.
• Stay informed about industry trends, product knowledge, and competitor offerings to effectively position our products.

Skills

• Proven experience in sales in a retail or customer-facing environment, not remote or phone based.
• Experience in Lumber/construction industry.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on active listening.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
• Must have lumber experience+
• Work schedule includes Saturdays
